I’m a writer, translator and editor based in New York. I teach undergraduate writing courses at CUNY-Queens College, where I recently completed an MFA in Creative Writing. I translate German contemporary prose into English and my original work focuses on themes of home, migration and belonging.

At different moments in my life I’ve called Germany, Hungary, Brazil, North Carolina, and New York home. English is my mother tongue, I’m fluent in German, and can enter into grammatically experimental conversations in Portuguese and Spanish.

As an editor and writing instructor, I’m drawn to where the words spark with original thinking, and I have a knack for helping the author illuminate the heart of her piece.
